Availability & Promptness –

(Reservation, Wait Times, Available Seating)
Rating: 4

Notes: My family and I checked out the new location of Cantina 1511 on a chilly Sunday night. Thankfully, we thought to make a last-minute reservation on Open Table because when we arrived around 6pm, they would not have been able to accommodate us without a wait. After we were seated, we watched a steady stream of couples and families patiently wait to be seated. No one seemed to be left waiting too long but I wouldn’t recommend showing up on a Friday or Saturday night without a reservation.

Aesthetics & Cleanliness The decor (Décor; Cleanliness in Parking Lot, Bathroom, Visible Work Areas, Tables)
Rating: 5

Notes: I love the new layout and look of the Park Road location. Tables are clean, the room is bright and open. Outdoor seating overlooks the Park Road Shopping Center – not the best view but the patio is separated enough that you really won’t notice. The new Park Road location has a much nicer seating layout than the dark, cramped space on East – great for a moms’ lunch out, a date night or an early family dinner.

Courtesy & Professionalism (Staff Appearance; Welcoming, Knowledgeable, Friendly)
Rating: 5

Notes: I have always had excellent servers at Cantina and the waitstaff at the Park Road location is no different. Servers and the hosts are friendly whether I arrive with my friends or my kids.

Services & Amenities (Outdoor seating, entertainment)
Rating: 4

Notes: Large TVs by the bar were showing current sporting events when I was there at night. The patio is a great spot to enjoy a nice lunch or dinner when the weather is nice. There are large heaters on the patio but I am not sure I would choose the patio if the weather was chilly.

Rating: 5

Notes: There is a lot of variety on the Cantina menu and the price reflects that. I love that you can order a single taco or two tacos – with rice and beans or just a taco by itself. Are you in the mood for two enchiladas or three? You choose. If you are especially hungry, order an entrée – generally priced between $15 and $20 – and the portions are huge. I am always happy to have some extra to take home and have lunch for the next day – enchiladas are my go-to meal when I want extras to take home. There are drink specials almost every night – Monday night was $5 cocktails when I met friends the other night – a cocktail and unlimited chips and salsa with friends made for a very affordable girls’ night out. My kids love to start out with guacamole made table-side – it is always good and plenty to share.

Family Friendly (Kids menu, kids eat Free, play area, complimentary entertainment like coloring book, available highchairs and booster seats, family bathrooms, nursing rooms)
Rating: 5

Notes: In my experience, Cantina 1511 is one of the most family friendly restaurants in Charlotte. After enjoying their chips, salsa, and guacamole, my kids love to order the kids chopped salad off the kids’ menu if they aren’t in the mood for quesadillas – I love that Cantina has a delicious salad on their kids’ menu! The bathrooms were clean and bright and there was a spot for diaper changes as well as a comfortable bench where I was able to sit with my girls while I nursed the baby. Started recently, Cantina has kids-eat-free on Tuesday nights.

Customer Service (Friendly, Knowledgeable, Efficient)
Rating: 5

Notes: Customer Service is consistently excellent. The servers know the menu well and can answer any question you throw at them. Two of my kids are gluten-free so I am always checking on food ingredients and the servers don’t blink an eye and quickly check with the kitchen if they don’t know the answer or the menu is unclear.

Quality of Food (Taste, Temperature, Timeliness, Correct Order)
Rating: 5

Notes: If you are craving delicious Mexican food or creative cocktails with your girlfriends, you can’t go wrong at Cantina 1511. I am pretty sure that our food came out promptly but we were so bust enjoying our drinks and chips that I probably wouldn’t have noticed if there was a delay.

Overall Experience
Rating: 5

Notes: I have always been a Cantina 1511 fan since moving to Charlotte and their new location closer to my house has made my chips-and-salsa-loving heart sing.

Specials: (Monthly, Weekly, Weekend, Daily, Happy Hour, Special Events)

Drink Specials every night. Kids eat free on Tuesday nights.

Recommendations: The Cantina 1511 menu is focused on providing fresh ingredients to make the best Mexican food possible. Order a table-side guacamole or some queso fundido and then mix and match a couple of tacos with a side of rice and beans. You really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. Or skip the meal altogether and just grab some friends, a pitcher of margaritas, and endless bowls of chips. Whatever your pleasure, you need to visit Cantina’s new Park Road location soon.
